    PROGRAMS OF STUDY

    Denmark-Olar High School offers two programs of study designed to assist the student in reaching his/her educational goals. Each curriculum allows the student to pursue specific career objectives as well as to fulfill the requirements necessary for the State High School Diploma. Students do have the option of selecting a combination of courses from a variety of programs of study.

    • TECH PREP and/or TWO-YEAR COLLEGE PROGRAM

    During the 21st century, 85% of the available jobs will require more than a high school education. However, 70% of the jobs will not require a four-year college degree. This means that students need to gain higher skills for high pay. And, this is what Tech Prep is designed to do: develop a better work force in the United States.

    Tech Prep Education is a program of study designed to provide competencies needed for the technological work place and preparation for students to pursue high education. The common core of academics combines math, science, communication and technologies. The objective is provide a sequential program of study, whihc will enable students to earn an associate degree, with the option of pursuing a baccalaureated degree. Jobs are now more technical in nature and employees need strong communication and computational skills. Tech Prep is a major educational reform that will provide a partnership between businesses, the community, secondary schools, parents, and technical schools.

    • COLLEGE PREP PROGRAM

    College Prep courses provide students with extensive preparation for college level work. College Prep and Honor courses are available in the areas of English, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign languages and business. College-bound students are encouraged to choose electives from the career and technology education courses when these meet students' individual needs.
