Physical Science is designed to serve as a foundation course for other high school sciences as well as preparation for the exit exam. It is a laboratory course that incorporates principles of chemistry and physics by emphasizing inquiry-based learning, process skills, and higher order thinking skills. .The approach of this course emphasizes everyday applications of physical laws. As the students progress through the course, they soon realize that most of the technological advances they have taken for granted are merely applications of basic physical science. The text book for this course is " Glencoe physical science" developed to promote goals, which complies with the state mandated South Carolina Curriculum Standards and approved by the state board of education. Physical Science will be the End Of Course exam for the academic year 2010-11.The Physical Science End of Course Exam score will count as 20% of the final course grade.
